Cyberwalker launches Lab Rats Hosted by long time tech journalists Andy Walker and Sean Carruthers, the weekly show cover the latest tech trends, showing viewers advanced tips on how to use technology they own. The hosts also reprise Walker's famous 'food demos' from his days as co-host on Call for help. In the demos, the hosts use every day objects to show how technology works (i.e. whip cream and turkey basters for inkjet printers, ham and cheese sandwiches for RAID hard drives, etc). The show is produced by Matt Harris, associate producer of the internationally syndicated tech tv show Call for Help. Each 15-minute episode is free and can be downloaded from www.labrats.tv or via Apple's iTunes. To date 7 episodes have garnered more than 200,000 downloads. The show has an extensive talented crew. It includes line producer Simon Walker, a Cyberwalker.com reporter/editor, who does special assignment field production (tech conferences etc) for the show. Dee Long (of Klaatu fame) wrote the theme song. The show's web site and animated intro was designed by famed Australian illustrator Steve Huntriss. Consulting producer includes Geo Perdis of MediaWorks.ca Walker has written thousands of articles for dozens of publications over the years. He has been syndicated across Canada in newspapers that belong to the Southam Newspaper chain (now CanWest Media). He has been the co-host of Call for help, the internationally syndicated tech TV show, a columnist in the Toronto Star, the Vancouver Province and the Edmonton Journal.Walker has also been published in MoneySense, the National Post, enRoute magazine and the Toronto Sun. He recently began writing a gadget page for IN, the inflight magazine for Chile-based LANChile Arilines. Walker is also the author of Absolute Beginners Guide to Secuirty, Spam, Spyware and Viruses.
Walker also helms Cyberwalker Media, a company he founded that provides newspaper,
magazine and web site editors with original technology content.
