If you follow the computer industry at all, you've heard of Linux. It's been described as everything from an operating system for geeks to the operating system that will topple Microsoft. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. While still primarily the playground for the more computer literate and brave, every passing year sees Linux becoming easier to use and a more viable alternative to Windows. Whether you're a newcomer to Linux or have used it for a while, you'll find numerous useful links below. Cyberwalker interviews Linus
Torvalds
Which/Whose Linux? -- This is a good starting point to help you decide which of the different distributions - or variations - of Linux to start with. Linus Torvalds Official Home Page -- He's the father of Linux, but don't expect to get a lot of information about him from his personal Web site. Chances are, your own Web page is more informative than his. But hey, who has time for personal Web pages when your operating system is all the rage? For a better picture of Torvalds, go through the links to various interviews at Linux Resources. Linux User Groups -- One of the best ways to learn more about Linux, and to share your knowledge with others, is to join a group of other Linux users. The Linux User Groups site keeps track of user groups worldwide.
