Office 97 Service Release 2
This is Microsoft's latest update to Office 97 that includes fixes and updates since Service Release 1. You will need SR-1 installed before installing SR-2!Not sure which version of Office you're running? In addition to SR-2, you'll also find a "version checker" that will help you answer that question. Or, you can open Word, click on the Help menu, then choose About Microsoft Word. If you already have Service Release 1 installed, you'll see the line Microsoft Word 97 SR-1 near the top of the pop-up screen. (The other Office programs will give you a similar message under their Help menus.)
Office 97 Service Release 1
Like Service Release 2, SR-1 contains many useful fixes and enhancements such as the Microsoft Word 6.0/95 Binary Converter. The converter allows Word 97 users to save files in the Word 6.0/95 file format....a handy feature when you're sharing documents with friends or co-workers who are using the older version of Word.
