How to Protect Your Privacy

Here you are, sitting in your den, browsing the World-Wide Web, or writing a letter to a friend, or doing whatever peaceful comes to mind. You feel you're all alone. In fact, you feel splendid.

Except, if your computer is linked permanently to the Internet - as most computers are these days, either through a high-speed connection through your telephone company, or through your cable TV company - chances are somebody's looking over your shoulder.
