Software is the bundle of ones and zeroes that is so arranged that it drives our computers and makes (presumably) the computer do what we want it to do. There are all kinds of software and all kinds of categories of software. Usually, we buy it, or are lucky enough to find out it's legally available for free. Under no circumstances do we steal software. Even if friends offer us brand new copies of software they've got (usually without paying, too), we resist. Why? Well, the people who write it have got to make a living, too. Most applications now load off their disks automatically and guide you through installation. Even after new software is installed, a wise user considers the minutes spent reading their user's manual minutes well spent. While the structure of commands (File, Edit, etc.) is now similar between the many software applications, each has its specific quirks because each is supposed to deliver something else.
